Weakened pelvic floor muscles can be caused by pregnancy, ageing and obesity. The pelvic floor muscles are the muscles between your legs, from your pubic bone in the front to the base of your spine at the back. The simplest way to imagine your pelvic floor muscles is as a sling. This sling holds your bladder and urethra; it’s these muscles that control your bladder. Like any muscle in the body it needs exercising to keep it in tip-top condition. By doing your pelvic floor exercises daily for 3 months you will see a significant improvement.
